Andres Moles (CEU): The morality of private discrimination

On what basis, if any, may owners of small businesses discriminate against the requests that customers make? In particular, should these vendors enjoy a right to refuse to manifest beliefs that they do not hold? And, if so, what are the contours of this right? Our aim in this paper is to answer these questions and defend a restricted prerogative to discriminate based on the expressive and associative interests that individuals have while pursuing a reasonable conception of the good.
